Howard will discuss the successful legislative campaigns to pass a bill to include pets in domestic violence protective orders, despite opposition from the NRA and the hunting community, and a bill that makes possession of drugs or implements that enhance an
animal’s ability to fight illegal.
This bill applies to both dog and bird fighting and was opposed by a very powerful legislator.
He will also talk about the campaign to defeat the Horse Slaughter Resolution, which went to the final hours of the session, and the failure of the Breeder Bill (Puppy Mills) to become law.
