With the advent of the bestselling book Skinny Bitch, veganism came way out of the closet and exploded into the mainstream consciousness. Veganism is now a household word. But is it really true that one can become thin by adopting a vegan diet? Diets don't seem to work. Counting calories works for a while but who can stay on a 1,000 calorie a day diet forever? I have interviewed people who've switched from a meat-based diet to a vegetarianism or veganism. I will present my findings, review our misconceptions about diet, and discuss how changing lifestyle is the answer.
