We've all heard teenagers say that they're going to be vegan as soon as they move out and "I would be vegan, but my parents..." So when we engage in vegan outreach with a young audience, our job extends beyond educating kids about reasons that they should be vegan to helping them see how they can become vegan while still living at home and what they can do to gain their parents' support in doing so.

Taking this into consideration, this talk addresses common reasons that parents don't want their kids to be vegan--such as worries about health, family dinners, and where to shop--and gives activists tips on what they can tell kids to do to get vegan approval from their non-vegan parents. The talk includes stories from my own time of being vegan while living in my parents' home and also draws on my experiences of doing vegan outreach to teenagers.
