We have some very low-price dorm housing available this year. Housing is available from the night of Thursday, June 11 through the night of Sunday, June 14. Housing includes linens and towels.
We have both single and double rooms available. Single rooms are $26 per night. Double rooms are $22 per night per person. The rooms have a shared bathroom, one per hallway.
You can pay for dorm rooms at the same time as you purchase your conference ticket, or you can purchase dorm housing any time up until June 2. Space is limited so we encourage you to pay for your room early.
The dorm, Middlebrook Hall, is very close to the conference venue. The walk between the two is about five minutes
The Days Inn is a bit further from the venue, but also cheaper than the nearby Holiday Inn. The walk to the venue is about 1.5 miles, or you can use the hotel's shuttle service to get to the venue. The shuttle runs approximately every half hour between 7am and 10pm. The hotel offers free high speed internet and allows companion animals (fees may apply).
We have reserved a block of twenty rooms (double bed or queen rooms) at a group rate of $92 per night plus tax (from Thursday, June 11 through Monday, June 15). To make a reservation at this special rate, you can call the Days Inn sales office at 612-623-9303 and mention that you are with Compassionate Action for Animals. The cut-off date for receiving the group rate discount is set for May 22, 2009, after which the rate will depend on availability.
The Holiday Inn Metrodome is within short walking distance of the site where the conference will be held. It is also next-door to several restaurants and right on the city bus-line which provides a short ride to downtown Minneapolis, The Guthrie Theatre, The Metrodome, and more.
We'll be organizing local volunteers to provide a space for out-of-town attendees to stay. We don't yet know how many spots we'll have. Please contact us if you'd like to be put on the list of people who want a space. These spaces will be allocated to speakers who want one first, and then to attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis.
