Lodging

Check out our Google community map, which includes markers for the venue and the nearby hotels.

Holiday Inn Metrodome

Compassionate Action for Animals has secured a discounted room rate for our conference attendees at the Holiday Inn Metrodome. This hotel is within short walking distance of The Humphrey Institute where the conference will be held. It is also next-door to several restaurants and right on the city bus-line which provides a short ride to downtown Minneapolis, The Guthrie Theatre, The Metrodome, and more.

The hotel has set aside a block of 20 rooms, 10 double rooms, and 10 with king beds. This block will be held until Friday, May 16th. Attendees must specify that they are with "Compassionate Action for Animals" when making a reservation. The group rate is $119 per night plus taxes (13.15%).

Parking

Parking is available in the municipal ramp adjacent to the Hotel. The current rate for overnight parking is $13.00 for a 24-hour period. The adjacent parking ramp is the property of the City of Minneapolis and not that of the Holiday Inn Minneapolis Metrodome.

Internet Access

Each room has free Ethernet connection. There is wireless access in Holiday Inn’s public areas.

Days Inn

The Days Inn is a bit further from the venue, but also cheaper, at $79 per night plus taxes. The walk to the venue is about 1.5 miles.

See their website for more details on booking a room.

Minneapolis International Hostel

You can get a shared room here for just $28 per night, but it's not that close to the venue. The walking route between the two is approximately 2.5 miles. You can also take the #2 bus, which will take about 25 minutes each way. The bus runs until just before 1AM.

Stay with a local volunteer

We'll be organizing local volunteers to provide a space for out-of-town attendees to stay. We don't yet know how many spots we'll have. Please contact us if you'd like to be put on the list of people who want a space. These spaces will be allocated to speakers who want one first, and then to attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You can also check out couchsurfing.com, a site which brings together travelers and couches worldwide.
