More Info About TLOV2008

Join hundreds of others this summer at the Midwest's premiere animal advocacy conference, "Their Lives, Our Voices." This conference will be hosted by Compassionate Action for Animals and will take place in Minneapolis at the beautiful Hubert H. Humphrey Conference Center from June 6-8.

Cost

The cost is now $80 for the general public and $40 for students.

There is no group rate, nor can you register for just one day.

Attendees will be able register at the door, but we cannot guarantee you meals if you do so.

Refunds will be available, minus our transaction costs, up until May 30th.

No one will be turned down due to lack of funds! Please contact us if you'd like to attend but cannot afford the full rate.

  • Dynamic presentations by leaders in the national and regional animal advocacy movement, which will provide you with practical information on activist approaches and skills.

Transportation

Walking

The venue for the conference is in a convenient location with plenty of veg-friendly restaurants and stores within walking distance.

Public Transportation

Minneapolis' Metro Transit system can get you anywhere from St. Paul to the Mall of America to downtown Minneapolis. Check out the bus and light rail routes.

Biking

Well known for its many bike paths and trails, Minneapolis is a cyclist's paradise. If you don't have a bicycle and would like to borrow one for the weekend, please inquire with us. The city of Minneapolis has a number of biking maps on their website.

Parking

The conference center site has driving directions and parking details. Note that there are also parking options in the surrounding residential area.

Flying

The airport code for Minneapolis is "MSP". The airport is located fairly close to the University of Minnesota's Minneapolis campus.

Depending on where you're staying, you may be able to take the Minneapolis Light Rail system. The Cedar/Riverside stop is less than a quarter mile from the conference venue and the nearby Holiday Inn. A taxi from the airport to town should cost you about $20-30, depending on your exact destination.
